2013 Porsche Carrera 4 to be revealed at Paris motor show - Autoweek TV
- - A Saab platform rises from the grave, sort of. -- Porsche readies a new four-wheel drive model -- And we've got a racing update for you It looks like Saab's Phoenix platform may see production after all. The Dutch supercar concern Spyker claims that an agreement is in place with Chinese firm Zhejiang Youngman to create two joint ventures. The companies will build cars on the Phoenix platform that was meant to underpin a new Saab 9-3. They'll also co-develop a Spyker SUV based on Spyker's D8 Peking-to-Paris concept. A previous deal between Spyker and Youngman failed to meet with former Saab owner GM's approval, which led to Saab's demise in 2011. Though the new arrangement will see cars built on the Saab Phoenix platform, there's been no mention of actually reviving the Saab name. The Carrera 4 will be wider than the standard 991 911 by just less than an inch. The standard Carrera 4 will be powered by a 3.4 liter flat-six making 350 hp while the Carrera S will feature Porsche's 3.8 liter flat-six making 400hp.
